We have a new doc! He supports VBAC!
We received great news this morning. The ob/gyn in Ellsworth has reviewed my records and has agreed to take me on as patient! Our first appointment with him is next Friday. Will post updates here.

My Ob/Gyn’s office finally sent my records to my primary care physician. They’re forwarding them to the new Ob/Gyn this morning so we should know in the next couple of days or not if he’ll take me on as a new patient. Will keep you posted.

I figured I’d give everybody an update since things seem to be going downhill here.
First, about three weeks ago, our local ABC affiliate ran a story on the local VBAC controversy. I called the reporter that day and sent her a long email detailing our experiences so far. She called me the next morning and we had a nice chat and she told me the story is still under investigation. I will provide more details after her investigation is complete. At that time, I told her we weren’t willing to go public with our story until we get my records from my doctor.
Over a month ago, I requested my records from my current pregnancy. My ob/gyn’s office sent the records same-day.
My primary care physician then forwarded those to a new ob/gyn in Ellsworth who agreed to review my case (the hospital in Ellsworth allows VBACs). The new ob/gyn let us know last week that he needed my previous c-section report. I emailed my ob/gyn on Thursday morning to request they send ALL of my records to my primary care physician.
A couple of hours later, I heard from my primare care physician’s office that they’d received more records, but the oldest record was from my postpartum checkup, which was about 2 months after Max was born. Say what?! I saw that doctor for over a year before that!
So, I immediately faxed them again, explaining that I’d seen that doctor for my entire pregnancy and delivery in 2001 and told them to send those records along, too. They did not.
This morning is when I sent the demand fax telling them to send all of my records today or to call my cell phone to tell me why there has been a delay.
I have an appt. there on Thursday and, if they don’t send my records, I won’t be there for my appointment. Instead, I just might be at my attorney’s office having him take over this entire mess.
Hugs to all!
